Importing this into Auction Flex 360

Auction Flex 360 takes a CSV for the lots and, once the lots exist, the photographs by name.

This file holds 69 lots and 69 photographs.

Steps

1. Unzip the file you downloaded. You will have lots-import.csv and a folder called images.
2. Find each consignor's code in Auction Flex 360: Customers, Customer List, Customer Code. Lotdesk wrote the code you gave each consignor in the Seller Code column; it attaches the right seller to each lot.
3. To compare headers, open Lots, Import Lots, CSV Template. Auction Flex 360 does not publish the template's header names, so Lotdesk uses plain ones and the next step matches them.
4. Go to Lots, Import Lots, Choose File and choose lots-import.csv.
5. Field Mapping: Auction Flex 360 lists the columns of your file (File Header) beside the fields it fills (DB Column). Match each: Lot Number, Seller Code, Title, Description, Quantity, Category, Starting Bid, Reserve, Low Estimate, High Estimate.
6. Import Options: start from the first data row (the file has one header row) and choose whether to overwrite existing data. If there are no lots yet, click Import.
7. Import Summary: read the report of how many rows were uploaded and any errors.
8. Photographs, after the lots are in: Lots, Lot Image Import, Select Lot Images. Open the images folder, click the first image, press Ctrl+A to select all, and upload. A Complete status confirms it.

Columns in the file, in order

1. Lot Number
2. Seller Code
3. Title
4. Description
5. Quantity
6. Category
7. Starting Bid
8. Reserve
9. Low Estimate
10. High Estimate

Titles are shortened to 50 characters at a word boundary; the ones that were are in warnings.txt.

Good to know

- Auction Flex 360 limits a lot title to 50 characters on bulk import. Longer titles are shortened at a word boundary and listed in warnings.txt, so you can put the full title back by hand.
- The photographs are named {lot}-{n}.jpg: 1-1.jpg, 1-2.jpg for lot 1. Auction Flex 360 also accepts 1.1 and 1_1.
- The file carries the reserve in the Reserve column. It is the house's own; do not post it anywhere a bidder can read it.
